The Cougars learned some hard lessons last Thursday night, and had to fight through some adversity in the 1st quarter. However, the team played extremely well despite a tough first quarter. The Rams from MIneral Wells proved to be a tough opponent. They ran a double tight I formation and truly were a smash mouth offense. Their Offensive line was very good.
However, the Cougars played tough and this type of physical football team/game is exactly what we needed going into district play in a couple of weeks. At halftime, the score was 28-6. The final score was 55-40. The Cougars were able to fight back into a one score game twice throughout the game, but just could not get over the hill. We missed recovering an onside kick within inches that would of given us the ball to attempt to tie the game. Overall, the players played well. We were very proud of their grit and fight. They never gave up!
