Your Cougars came away Friday with a big Homecoming win over the visiting poly Parrots. The Cougars outscored the Parrots 39-0 as the defense secured the shutout. Please congratulate these young men when you see them.

The scoring for the night started with a 32-yard Field Goal from Emmanuel Nshimiyimana. It sailed through the uprights with ease and with plenty of distance giving the Cougars a 3-0 lead. However, that drive was started with a onside recovery kick. Emmanuel placed a beauty of an onside kick right in the hands of Aaron Martin to start the game.

Tyreke Lewis played well once again and paced the offense with 151 yards on 18 carries and 2 Touchdowns. Keyon Butler added another 131 yards on the ground and a pair of touchdowns. Sophomore David Washington scored the final TD of the game on a nice run around the corner for 21-yard touchdown. Tyreke, D'Anton Davis, and Armani Perry Brown scored on two-point conversions. The offense finished the night with 500 total yards. 140 of it coming through the air with Kaream Williams catching 4 balls for 93 yards. The Offensive line of RJ Moilan, Landon Price, Jayson Aden, Logan Lockwood, Robert Guzman, Cam Bernard, and Javon Douglas-Jones led the way.

Defensively, Cam Hawkins had a huge interception to stop a poly drive and finished the night with pair of tackles. Aaron Martin and Donte Parker Garrett led the defense. Defensive Lineman Rod Gray played the best he has so far this season. D'Shun Hawkins made several plays from defensive line position. The defense was able to secure their first shut-out of the season.

The Cougars are on a bye this week. We will pick up again Thursday, September 22 against Carter Riverside at Handley field. Kickoff is 7 pm for this first district game.
