It is an exciting day to be a WHHS Cougar. Your Western Hills JV/FRESHMEN Football team got another Win on their record as they defeated Carter Riverside in a commanding performance winning 24-0. This is our second win back to back and opponents have not scored against us in eight quarters.
Offensively the team was led by Jeremiah Stribling who ran a touchdown and threw a long touchdown pass to Marvin Tillis. Michael Allen had a long 70 yard run down the sideline as well and all three two point conversions were made by Eric Smith dominantly running into the end zone.
The defense pitched another shut out and was a turnover machine as they recovered three fumbles. Jayden Franklin, Tyler Willis and Terrence Brown got the three fumbles. Daniel Washington got a big interception to cap it off.
The JV Cougars now focus on grades this week and will be playing Dunbar at home next Wednesday. Tonight make sure to come cheer on your Varsity Cougars at Handley field at 7pm.
