Your Varsity Cougars came away with another big win over the Castleberry Lions on Thursday night. The final score was 50-35. The first quarter was an exciting scorefest with 41 total points put on the board. In the second half, the defense settled in and allowed the Lions to only score one more time and forced several turnovers.
Tyreke Lewis started the scoring witha. a huge 70 yard TD run around the right side. Keyon Butler added a 63 yard TD run, a second TD run, and threw for three more touchdowns. Armani Perry-Brown, Gavyn Harris, and Tyreke Lewis caught those touchdown passes. Aaron Martin scooped up a fumble and ran it in for a scoop and score touchdown. Gavyn Harris added two 2-point conversions and Tyreke Lewis had one of his own.
Defensively, the Cougars were led by Donte Parker Garrett and D'shun Hawkins. The defense stepped up and really played well in the second half.
The Cougars will be on the road this Friday night traveling to Lake Worth to take on the Bullfrogs. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Lake Worth Kittrell Stadium.
