Friday night didn’t go as we had hoped!
Our Cougars saw some growing pains with several new guys playing in new positions. We got better as the game went on, but we can't start slow and expect to be successful. We made alot of early mistakes, but We saw a lot of growth as the game went on. It was a great non-district game for us to get alot of good work. Maypearl was a solid team that is much improved.
First year starting QB Kyu Wilson was 15 of 21 with a TD pass. We were happy with the way he managed the game and made decisions. Brycen Foster and Love Willis led the defense in tackles. Both played great games from their OLB positions. O’Rylen Crockett saw his first varsity action and scored his first career varsity TD on a long pass in the 4th quarter from Kyu Wilson.
Thank you to all the staff and teachers that welcomed us onto the field. We enjoyed seeing you in the stands.
The Cougars take on Mineral Wells this Friday night in Mineral Wells with a 7:30 kickoff.
